22 years ago? Where has the time gone.
22 years ago, Korn released the album that redefined rock music for a generation named ‘Follow the Leader.’ Ushering in a sound of rock that most had never heard of before named Nu-Metal. Songs like Got the Life, Freak on a Leash, All in the Family, all became staples for teens in the late 90’s. Just listen to Rock 108 and you’ll still hear tracks from this album.
I put this album among the ‘Inspirational 3.’ Follow the Leader, Rob Zombie’s Hellbilly Deluxe, and Godsmack self titled, were 3 albums my brother bought at the same time. I would sneak into his room when he was out of the house, bring Korn Follow the Leader down to the basement on my Dad’s big stereo and just crank the sucker. When my brother was home though, I would sneak into his bedroom while he was sleeping and do the same? But have it a very low volume so he wouldn’t hear it.
Ahhh sibling rivalry and the quest to borrow your brothers stuff without permission.
And just ughhh….this video is just intoxicating to watch.
