That….is a TON of trees…100,000+ tons that is.

It’s been a few weeks since the power derecho showed up in the Corridor, but the cleanup is still going on! That just goes to show how impactful this thing was.

The Cedar Rapids City Government has posted on their Facebook that they have cleaned up over 100,000+ tons of tree debris. Just to give you an idea, a single story house average weight is 100 tons and a locomotive engine is 225 tons! As of right now, Cedar Rapids Government is calculating that it has cleared up 26% of the debris, and is continuing to work EVERY SINGLE DAY to get the job done.
