Not only have us humans been dramatically affected by the derecho, so have our fur babies. A lot of us have been crushed by extra bills, and taking care of our pets is NOT cheap.
PetSmart has found a way to help our community and our fur babies. They are donating 3 pallets of Authority Chicken and Rice Dry Adult Dog Food! Thanks, PetSmart! How it’s going to work is… Cedar Rapids Animal Care and Control is going to hold a pet food pantry this weekend for people affected by the derecho. Thanks, Cedar Rapids Animal Care and Control!
Saturday, September 12 from 1-4 p.m.
Sunday, September 13 from 1-4 p.m.
The pet food will handed out at the Cedar Rapids Animal Care and Control parking lot as a drive through on a first-come, first-serve basis until gone. They are asking everyone to wear masks, and to stay in their cars. Volunteers will put food in the cars to make the process as contactless as possible.
Just go to Cedar Rapids Animal Care and Control, located at 7241 Washington View Parkway SW. (It’s on the campus of Kirkwood Community College.)
