Paying for Mediacom and STILL dealing with internet issues?
With the recent derecho, thousands of people got power knocked out and Iowans from all around were seriously affected with their internet service. The derecho REALLY affected the areas that provide the internet, so it’s been quite a process for Mediacom to repair those areas. Because of this though, there are still a few hundred customers without internet access.
Mediacom has announced that $5.7 Million dollars will be credited to those who were affected by the recent derecho. Those credits will show up on customers’ October bill. The credits will head to 340,000 affected customers in Iowa, Illinois, and Indiana.

While my service was affected by derecho, it wasn’t nearly as bad as some Iowans have dealt with. I’ll assume that the folks without service for weeks and weeks will be the ones that receive the credit.
