Chances are, you probably own one.
Gamer? Look in your closet or maybe your entertainment center…chances are you probably have a Playstation 2 in there somewhere, and it’s been 21 years since it was first released unto the world.
Playstation 2 (as of right now) is the best selling video game console of ALL TIME, selling a whopping 155 million consoles in it’s lifetime from 2001 ALLLLLL the way until 2013 when it finally clocked out, meaning that it was basically still being sold nearly into the Playstation 4’s birth.
That…is nearly unheard of in the games world. Oddly enough, I wasn’t much into the PS2…this was during the time I started dating my first ever girlfriend, so you know….all in love and whatever so games took a backseat. But there was no way you could ignore the Playstation 2! This was during the time of Nintendo Gamecube and a brand new game console named Xbox. If you know your gaming history, the PS2 is basically what killed off the Sega Dreamcast, and Sega in the gaming hardware biz.
The PS2 will go down in gaming history as one of the greatest games consoles of all time, and whether you are a die hard Nintendo, Xbox, or PC fan….there is no denying that PS2 changed a lot of who played games.
