That our great state of Iowa, is ranked #1 in home affordability according to U.S. News….and I 100% agree with that.
As someone who bought my first house just this past year, it’s crazy to think how cheap my house was for the amount I got. The same house in my hometown of Grand Rapids, MI would have been nearly TWICE THAT! (GR is a booming real estate area) and don’t even try comparing something like San Diego, CA….that’s just insane.
For example, a friend of mine back in my hometown has been searching for a house for nearly a year, but EVERY single home is either massively over asking price, he has to outbid them, or they get bought in less than a day!
So if you’re looking to buy a home in Iowa? Right now is probably your best opportunity to do so…rates are insanely low and you can get a pretty sizeable house for likely less than it would cost rent (not every case, depends on what you want).
