When you sit down for your favorite meal.

And it’s like a big juicy steak, you love steak, it’s a pleasure the moment you see that thing come to your table…and no matter how many times you eat a steak, that steak you’re eating right now is the best steak you will ever have (at the moment)

Mega Man X on Super Nintendo? Is that steak, a porterhouse.

There are few games out there that are AS good a Mega Man X. There were plenty of Mega Man games before it, but something about Mega Man X just not only knocks the character out of the park, but it’s a damn grand slam. I can’t really count how many times I have done a playthrough of this game, but I can promise that it’s in the 100’s.

When I was a kid and first played it, I was dazzled by the characters, colors, gameplay, and the amount of secrets to find! As an adult, the whole way this game is laid out nearly makes it a perfect game. From the intro stage to the ending screen…these days I can beat the game pretty regularly, but it’s still a challenge, which is why it keeps me coming back. All the game aside though, probably one of the greatest things about this game?

The music.

Storm Eagle Sting Chameleon, Flame Mammoth, Spark Mandrill….all of their stage theme songs are rock/metal tracks but bit crushed, prompting YouTube guitarists and bands to form to pay tribute to this games soundtrack.

Just damn man…if a video game soundtrack as epic as Mega Man X can inspire someone to do that? Then this is more than just a video game.

If you’ve never played Mega Man X and love action platformers, you’re really doing yourself a disservice. You can get this game in the X Collections on PS4, Xbox One, and Switch…but truthfully? X1, X2, and X3 are fantastic…once you go past there? The series just takes a downfall (IMO that is).

The wonderful human known as Arin Hanson, aka Egoraptor shares a much more visual opinion of this and everything I just said is echoed by him.
