What a ride it’s been so far.

10 years……10 damn years….that’s a long time. 2 more years and I will have completed a full school career, which that sure puts things into perspective right? 10 years ago, I made my debut on your favorite radio station…and life has sure changed in those 10 years.

I’ll never forget when I got the notification from my old boss back in Michigan ‘Heya Ned, there’s a friend in Waterloo Iowa that’s looking for an afternoon guy if you’re interested, cause you’d be very good at it.’

Now at that time, I have NEVER imagined leaving my home state and home…and Iowa of all places. I’ll save you all the innerds as we know how the story goes….took the job and moved out to Iowa of course, and it’s been a ride. My first remote I EVER did was some McGrath Dealership auto sale they had at Hawkeye Downs and I have a video from it…

Yikes….look at that hair.

Time would go on and lets see if you remember some of these….ring a bell?

  • Nibbles with Ned
  • Nerdy Notes with Ned
  • Ned Invades Northern Invasion
  • Ned gets Water Dumped from a Front Loader on him
  • Ned fixes another car issue
  • Ned’s Legendary 2000 Jeep Cherokee
  • Coffee & Quarantine during the Pandemic
  • Singing with Pop Evil
  • 24 Hour Livestream
  • Sunday Streaming
  • Having kids
  • Buying a house
  • 420 Music Meetings
  • Go Karts with Pop Evil
  • Grave Corps guesting or Dead Ned

In some way, you were a part of all of them or somehow remember them.

10 years ago I was hired and here I still am today! I write this reflection because I had two different people come up to me at Chaos for a Cause and said ‘Dude I’ve been listening to you since I was a kid and still love Nerdy Notes!’

That’s when it hit me….it’s been 10 years, and in this radio industry? I am very lucky to still have a job in radio and hopefully make a difference in your life whether it is through 24 hour livestream, chaos for a cause, or just making you laugh on the 420 music meeting.

Just wanted to say thank you for allowing me to go into your earholes for a few times a day. I love what I do and while I do deal with heavy ‘imposter syndrome’ many days it’s cool when someone takes the time to say ‘Hey, love what you do.’
